Parker is home this week with Jeremy because it is our daycare provider's summer vacation. (Please note that I, myself, don't have any vacation time for this week due to the other days this year that daycare has been closed!...anyway...). It's been crazy hot this week (today should hover around 100 degrees), so the two of them have been doin' stuff in the morning. I took this cute picture yesterday when Jeremy asked Park if he was ready to go outside. Parker grabbed Jeremy's hat, picked up the keys and reached to unlock the back door (with the Jeep key mind you, but it was a great effort). It was super cute and just reminded us how big he is getting!

adios!
My sister-in-law, Jacie, and her partner Caesar moved West this weekend to live out their California dream...best of luck. We will all miss having you around....especially Park. Jacie was always guaranteed to get a giggle out of him.

a change of pace
Our new house gives us a chance to switch decorating styles. Since it was built in 1950 (instead of the more traditional 1930's style of the last one) we can ditch the mission style furniture and do just about anything....so we're joining this century and going more contemporary. We picked out a fantastic light fixture for the dining room. It only took about 12 hours to install (long story involving missing pieces that had to be resent, absolutely worthess instructions, a bit of confusion, strange halogen light bulbs, and just that fact that everything takes about three times as long as you think it will to complete). But in the end - a great new dining room light!

what's in your fridge...
ok...I'm throwing out a challenge to all you blogging friends - what's in your fridge?? I'm just being nosy, but thought it would be interesting to see (especially Jackie's in NYC....). There is only one groundrule: no pre-editing or cleaning up...just open and snap the picture. I took a picture of our pathetically empty one this morning:
Isn't my freezer sad? The fish sticks are lonely.

like father, like son
Jeremy had a friend come over last night to help him mount the obnoxiously large plasma TV that was recently purchased for our living room. (Sorry guys out there, this is painful to read I know.) I do have to admit that it is pretty impressive, but I would have been happy with a smaller one. Once Parker saw Noggin on the big screen, however, there was no going back. This morning we had "Wonder Pets" on the smaller TV in the hearth room and Parker grunted and pointed to the new TV. Is this an inborn genetic male condition?
